Dying with pollution
Artist Tino Seubert stains his garments with what's essentially airborne pollution. In The Colour of Air, Seubert wryly dubs the concentration of particulate matter from transport and manufacturing an "untapped resource." Inspired by the ancient Egyptians, who suspended carbon dust in water to create a crude form of India ink, Seubert harvested soot from diesel particulate filters to adapt in multiple ways.
